Chicken breeds are able to influence chicken taste and texture. It is important for us to understand chicken breeds so we will be able to find which chicken breed suits our cooking and which chicken breed produce best egg. The understanding is also beneficial if we want to have a chicken in our barnyard. The most popular chicken breed is definitely leghorn chicken. Usually we can find white leghorn chicken, but we can find another color as well. It depends on the variety. Leghorn is the best egg layer among all chicken breeds. It can produce more than three hundreds egg every year.
If we want to make chicken as our pet, then Bantam chicken breed can be a perfect choice. It included in small sized chicken breeds. This show bird chicken breed has various beautiful colors and it is very silent. We can put it in our backyard and let our children play with it. Another chicken breed that usually displayed for show is Maran chicken breed. Both of the chicken breeds are unable to produce good egg and meat. Barnevelder chicken breed is one perfect chicken breed that gives double benefit. It can lay approximately two hundreds eggs every year and its big size produce great chicken meat.
Another chicken breed that able to produce so many high quality eggs is Black Rock. Besides its high egg production, this chicken breed suits for pet as well. Light Sussex is another show star chicken breed that can lay huge number egg per year as well. Speckled chicken breed is the best producer of brown egg. However, this speckled chicken breed need so much food in a day cannot have good interaction with other birds. There are numerous chicken breeds that we can find and each of the chicken breed has its own characteristic that can be beneficial for us.
